Spiritual Meanings When You Dream About A Deceased Loved One

1. You Need Advice On Something Important

The people we love, in most cases, are people with whom we share many of our private things and ask for help in problematic situations.

If a person like this passes away, a dream in which they appear may mean we need someone we can confide in and ask for advice.

The deceased was probably someone who gave you insight regarding your problems and provided guidance when you needed it the most; now, they are gone.

You didn’t find their replacement because you don’t feel close enough to anyone to tell them what’s really bothering you. And that’s why you met your deceased loved one again in your dream state.

Whatever is bothering your soul seems to be too much, and since you aren’t sharing your feelings with anyone, your subconscious has started to feel tortured; maybe it’s time to talk to someone. If you don’t have a close friend or acquaintance, you can ask for help from a therapist or psychologist.

2. You Are Transitioning Into A Different Phase Of Your Life

Death generally represents something terrible. But death is not only that; death is also transition. And that transition does not necessarily have to concern the person who passed away as it can also concern you, the dreamer.

Dreams of a dead person we love can represent our transition into a new phase in which we do not know what awaits us, just as we do not know with certainty what awaits us after death.

The change that will follow will bring new things. In the beginning, it will be difficult for you to get used to it because humans are creatures of habit, but sooner or later, you will have to face your new situation and deal with it the best way you can.

Reminiscing about the past, how it used to be better or different, will not bring you anything good most of the time because what is in the past can’t be changed.

3. You Want To Spend More Time With Your Loved Ones Before It’s Too Late

There is probably no person in the world who does not wish they had spent a moment more with their deceased loved one. Unfortunately, no matter how close you were and how much time you spent with that person, it seems that it wasn’t enough when they passed away.

When such persons appear in our dreams, it does not only mean that we feel sad about their death but also that we are trying to remind ourselves not to make the same mistake twice, that is, to start spending more time with our loved ones who are alive.

Unless it is a case of a serious illness, none of us knows when our time will be up in this world. For this reason, it is important to dedicate time to those we love. Maybe today is the last time we will see them.

4. You Miss Them

We, humans, are beings that have a beginning and an end. Many people realize this sooner or later, but no matter how clear it is, it is still difficult to accept this fact, and a lot of folks never succeed in doing so. Even if we accept it, it is hard to acknowledge that we will never see our deceased friend or family member again.

Some believe that the end of life is just the beginning of a new life and that we will see each other in the afterlife sometime in the future. But this is just one of several coping mechanisms we use to get over our and our loved ones’ transience.

But regardless of if you subscribe to it or not, what we all probably have in common is that a deceased loved one will appear in our dreams sooner or later. Simply, we miss that person too much to forget them. Therefore, our subconscious mind uses these types of dreams as a reminder of that person and how much we loved them.

Do not feel sad after such dreams. On the contrary, you should feel lucky for getting another chance to spend time with them, even if it was just in a dream.

5. Not Everything Is As It Looks

Try to remember your dream. If it was a positive dream in which you had fun with a deceased relative, friend, or partner, you probably had the time of your life. And then, boom – you woke up.

A feeling of sadness took over your mind and body. What you experienced was just an illusion. Yes, while you were in the dream, everything was great, but as soon as you woke up, you saw that the experience was not what it seemed.

This dream is a warning that in your waking life, you are doing something that only on the surface seems positive or beneficial. That something may be bringing you a lot of happiness and comfort at the moment, but the time will come when you will see the true face of that thing.

It is also possible that something is not a “dead” thing but a living person. After all, you saw a person in your dream.

Anyway, take a good look around and inside yourself and try to find what your mind is warning you about before it’s too late.

6. You Want To Go Back To The Good Old Times

Deceased people in our dreams sometimes symbolize our desire to return to some past times. When it comes to dreams about dead people we love, it can mean that we want to go back to a period when life was better than it is right now.

If you are a person who is struggling with negative emotions such as anxiety, anger, hate, and sadness on a daily basis, it is possible that you wish you could live in another time.

The person you loved who you lost probably reminds you of that period. Unfortunately, returning to that time is not possible, which is why you should try to look ahead as much as possible.

However, reminiscing about the good old times is not forbidden. After all, moments that stay with us long after they are over are some of the most precious ones.

7. You’re Afraid You Might Lose Someone Close Again

Losing a loved one is a trauma that people rarely get over since it actually hurts our brains. Quite simply, this situation leaves such deep scars that it seems they will never heal.

But this trauma has another side: once we experience what it’s like to lose someone really close to us, we start to fear for the lives of those around us that we love.

Fear is already there if it involves premature or sudden death or if we are of that age when the death of people around us is something “normal”. When we begin thinking about these situations, what will happen is that we will start having dreams in which we meet some of our deceased loved ones.

Such dreams mean that when we are awake, we think of other loved ones and fear their death may come because we know how painful of an experience it is.

8. You Don’t Know How To Say Goodbye

Relationships don’t just end when one person dies. During our lives, we go through hundreds of relationships with people who are our relatives, friends, romantic partners, school friends, business colleagues, and the like.

But the vast majority of these relationships end sooner or later, even if we are not in hostile relations with anyone. Of course, some people move on, but there are also those for whom something like this is difficult, which does not allow them to continue living their lives normally.

Dreaming about a deceased loved one can symbolize your inability to come to terms with the inevitable – when a relationship ends, there’s no going back. No matter how hard you try to make it happen, you will not succeed.

Conclusion

To summarize, a dream about a deceased loved one can mean you miss the deceased person, want to spend more time with people around you, or go back to times when things were better.

It can also mean you don’t know how to accept that a relationship has ended or that you are afraid someone close to you might die. Finally, this dream could be a warning that something or someone isn’t showing you its real face or that you need advice from a trusted person.
